The brief
Where it started
Fortnight Press wanted to grow beyond poetry without losing the readers who had kept it alive. Every title looked different, and booksellers struggled to recognise the list as one publisher.
The challenge was to build a brand big enough for new series while protecting the care that made the press worth reading.
The idea
In a hurried market, publish slowly and say so.

The work
What we did
01
Strategy
A positioning built around slowness: fewer titles, longer shelf life and a clear promise to readers and booksellers.
02
Identity
An identity system for three new series, with a logo that works as well on a spine as it does on a website.
03
Flagship
A 312-page monograph printed on 30-gram bible paper, designed to be the book that announced the new press.

In their words
The monograph was the first book of ours people bought as an object. It’s now on its third printing.
